Department of Roads and Transport
Requirements:
- National Diploma (NQF Level 6) or Degree (NQF Level 7) in Transport Management, Transport Logistics, or Public Administration
- 1-2 years’ working experience in the public transport field/environment
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability and willingness to work under pressure
- Strong time management skills
- Able to follow instructions and work well within a team
- Adaptable to change
- Good communication skills (added advantage)
Duties:
- Conduct physical inspections of all routes for land-based public transport operations in the region, and document observations
- Record and safely keep minutes of elections and AGM proceedings
- Provide administrative support in mediating conflicts and resolving disputes
- Render general administrative support services
- Participate in developing and reviewing the unit’s relevant policies and regulations
- Assist in preparing for meetings with Associations and stakeholders, both within and outside the Department
- Support inspections-in-loco with stakeholders (Planning Authorities, SANTACO, GNTA, Metered Taxi Council, Learner Transport Council) upon receipt of route applications from an Association or Operator
