Minimum Requirements:
- A National Diploma in Communications, Marketing, or Business Management, or an equivalent NQF Level 6 qualification
- 1-3 years of experience working within a social media communications environment
- Background in journalism would be an advantage
- A valid driver’s license
- Strong command of the English language
Core Responsibilities:
- Drive the CoE’s social media strategy by building and sustaining the brand’s presence across social platforms while growing overall brand awareness
- Act as an on-camera representative of the City, creating and presenting digital content for social media channels
- Plan, coordinate, and run competitions and interactive campaigns across social media
- Stay well-informed on the social media landscape and keep pace with emerging platforms and trends
- Work collaboratively on social media strategy to grow audience reach without compromising content quality
- Ensure all work complies with the Department’s social media policies and strategic direction
- Follow established standards, policies, and standard operating procedures to minimize financial wastage and flag related risks where necessary
- Help foster a culture of strong relationships, excellent customer service, and ethical conduct by leading by example
